Just A Day Like Any Other

Today was "Just a day Like Any Other….." I don't mean that in a facetious, redundant, arrogant way.  I just like you…… conquered the day. I worked on several wristlets clutches. This one is designed with some of the beautiful sari trim I found over the weekend….. Spoke with some European connections on 3 different design logos for the bags……… Found some embellishment elements that I cleaned out my L.A. resource on….. and they didn't remember where they purchased them…….. chatted with friends on the many challenges of raising kids….. and had a fabulous dinner. With its many facets of the day I just reminded myself…… "Today Was Just Like Any Other……."

We just got back from the West Coast. Lots of new things are in the works. We are very excited about the future of the Royal Hippie Line. Lots of new items were dropped off @ SWAY in Belmont Shores. SWAY now carries my Royal Hippie Fringe Bags.

It feels like Spring.....

                                              

Well.... It feels a bit like spring is upon us. I'm working on current orders with some new additions to my accessory line. Here's a sample.........

Beating to a Different Drum.....

These past few months has had me thinking back into the past. My family has never been and never will be thought of as normal examples. As far as I can remember my family was always about "making a difference". My Grandfather, was an engineer without formal training. As a Senior Master Sargent.... in the Air-Force. He worked on, and perfected the "release mechanisms" on the B-52 bomber. My Grandmere after being a Housewife of 33 years, went to college at the age of 53 to earn her BA and taught English as a Second Language in a private University. My Mother was very prominent in her day, over achieving what was not expected of the time including a Masters in Nutrition. My Aunt (who has since past) has/had earned more Masters (3 to be exact) to choke a horse--- from Ivy league Universities including Berkely!!!!!!!--- And then there's me..... Well....... let's just say.... I aspire to do my VERY BEST to be my own individual as I was created to be. I'm thankful that I was taught to beat to a different drum..... Grandmere would sometimes use a bit of Choctow----ism (I call it..... apparently pow-wows were used to get things off your chest......... I LOVED to hear these Stories from my Great Cousin Vietta who past 2 years ago)----------"if you see your beats close to another...... it's time to refocus, regather, and slow the rhythm......" As I've said before.... I aspire to be the leading voice not the broke record.....

Changes

The past few months have been a bit of a challenge in the home front for our family.... as far as memories go. It has cause some changes that are nothing more than mere obstacles of life. It does make one sit back and def. look into what is TRULY important.----as redundant as that saying may be. You'll get to a point in your life where you'll be saying that same line. And just as redundant as " Nothing Remains Constant but Change itself......" I'm a person who virtually thrives in change. Don't get me wrong..... I love comfort, my memories, and things that bring comfort. However; if I remain stagnate..... I don't grow. Enough with the heaviness......

Troublemakers - Get Misunderstood

Well.... As I sum up 2012...and it slowly shuts the door upon us. I'm very thankful for the things that have brought me to this existing  pinnacle. It's a very interesting place. I'm currently in to say the least. A place that has had me thinking more about the "have not's". This year I felt pressed in my heart to make the women's battered shelter gifts. What I later found out  was that it was also battered kids, and men...... I sent a muslin cloth of hand made one of a kind gifts to everyone in that shelter. I've never been battered, abused, nor neglected. However I felt a yearning to help? I can not imagine to be in such a place.

As 2013 .....Encroaches upon us,  I am truly humble for what you will bring me. I aspire to be positively effectual in every path I meet or cross.......Not to give credit to EVIL------ However we already have enough of it. I know the "Fat Lady has not sung".... but someday she will--------- in the mean time.......... I will Love My Neighbor/fellow man as myself. I Will use my words to lift up and not to tear down.............

Bringing it all Together........

This year I only painted one painting, which is a bit strange for me............12 years of pumping out.....to just 1 for the year. Things have changed. However; creativity needs to be kept fresh and alive.......

I've spent the past year focused on hands on creativity..... jewelry, and as you already have seen my new found love for leather. Well...... I'm happy to have come "FULL CIRCLE". I will now be offering limited edition artwork on my one-of-a-kind bags......... I'm currently tagging each run of a bag with a special seal that keeps the bags and the original artwork special..... This encourages the painting level to be raised and the creativity to be challenged.......Stay Tuned!

The Past few weeks have been crazy gearing up for some wonderful vendor/product love..... I was asked the other day to explain what I look for in the things I do for an article to be published ..... I sat there.....for a VERY LONG TIME. "What do I LOOK FOR........". I Thought to myself... "I don't look for anything..... it's a mear fusion." Classically trained... with a voice of my own.
